(toskanews) – A rare magnum of Dom Pérignon Vintage 1961served at Lady Diana’s wedding to the Prince of Wales in 1981, will be auctioned on 11 December in Denmark. «A special label was also created for this bottle. It is said that only twelve magnums exist, and this is one of them”, explained Thomas Rosendahl Andersen, head of the wine department at the Danish auction house Bruun Rasmussen. According to him, the bottle, currently stored in the house’s cellar before being presented to the public from December 4, could appeal to both wine enthusiasts and collectors eager for royal memorabilia.

«It’s perfectly drinkable. Every bottle of wine we sell at auction is examined and analysed,” he added. «For this type of bottle, we carry out various tests, including lighting the bottle to verify that the contents, i.e. the wine itself, have a nice clear color and are not brown and cloudy.» It is estimated that the bottle could be sold for between 500,000 and 600,000 crowns (between 67,000 and 80,000 euros).
