A resident of the Meteorenweg calls it ‘worthless’. “A few years ago they abolished those things because they caused a lot of nuisance and vermin. We are suffocating with vermin here. And now they come with a new container so that we will probably get even more vermin.”
Compost and biogas
The municipality says that the national obligation to separate vegetable, fruit and garden waste must be followed and that the municipal council has agreed to this. Compost and biogas are made from this waste.
There are also proponents. “Then we also have less waste for the garbage bags,” says one of the residents. “I completely agree. Green, only better.” Another: “It’s better than what it is now. With all that waste here. That is thrown here by those local residents. And that is regular.”
