At least until the end of Monday morning, no trains will run from ‘t Harde to Zwolle and between Zwolle and Lelystad.

A spokesperson for ProRail says that people coming from Amersfoort and wanting to go to Zwolle must pass ‘t Harde. “You can do that by traveling via Deventer, but then you are at least half an hour further.” Zwolle is an important hub for traffic to the northern provinces. According to the spokesman, it costs people to travel to or from the Northern Netherlands “a lot of extra time”. He also speaks of a “quite complex situation”.

‘Severe damage’

The attempted copper theft took place on Sunday evening on the railway in Zwolle. A man has been arrested, according to ProRail. “Although nothing has been removed, the damage is significant,” said the railway manager.

A spokesperson for the NS says that express buses run between ‘t Harde and Zwolle and Lelystad and Zwolle. She also advises travelers to consult the travel planner before they set out.
