Important victory in the prestigious duel: Preußen Münster won the intense derby at Arminia Bielefeld 2-1 (1-1) thanks to a late own goal from Leon Schneider.

Schneider unfortunately steered the ball into his own goal during an attempt to clear the ball in the 89th minute, causing the Prussian fans to celebrate. Münster improved to ninth place in the table with the win and increased the gap to the relegation zone.

Oliver Batista Meier (32nd) had previously scored for the guests. Bielefeld initially took the lead thanks to a penalty kick from ex-Prussian Joel Grodowski (8th).

Bielefeld got off to a better start at home on the Alm, Grodowski safely converted the penalty on his 28th birthday and Arminia clearly set the tone as a result. But out of nowhere, Batista Meier took advantage of a blackout in the Bielefeld defense to equalize.

Overall, the fans saw a game marked by many fouls, with thrilling scenes in the goal area being in short supply.

When things did become dangerous, both teams lacked the necessary killer instinct – as was the case with Arminia’s Monju Momuluh’s promising attempt (58′) or Lars Lokotsch’s header (68′). An own goal ultimately ensured Münster’s first victory in Bielefeld in almost 31 years.
