In the book he published Marracash revealed that the story with Elodie had started to falter during the making of the album Us, them, the others: his girlfriend appeared next to the rapper on the cover. “I already had two songs ready, but suddenly the crisis arises and I question everythingeven the relationship with her.”

After the breakup, according to Marracash, Elodie would have changed her attitude. At first it was “super cute“, but then the situation degenerated. What made things worse were some photos portraying her with another man, when the separation had not yet been made official: “Photos came out of her seeing someone else. But it wasn’t publicly known yet that we had broken up, there was only gossip. For me that situation at that point becomes devastating“.
The rapper had asked her for a confrontation: “Then do what you want and with whoever you want”, he told her, adding: “But this way you destroy me”. Marracash explained: “In addition to the human wound, I didn’t want my work to be affected by everything that was happening. I had come to believe that she wanted to hurt me, wanted to sabotage my work“.
Over time the two found balance. Marracash admitted to having been overwhelmed by the “macho paranoia of ‘passing as a cuckold'”. Elodie subsequently “deeply apologized for what had happened. She tells me that those photos with someone else were her gut way of reacting”. Hence the possibility “to leave each other well and maintain a good relationship“.
