The municipality of Moerdijk informed its residents on Friday that additional subsidy is available for homeowners who insulate their home. While the village of Moerdijk is in danger of disappearing from the map to make way for more industry.

This cheerful news about extra subsidies for homeowners must come across as bitter in the village of Moerdijk. This village was closed down by the same municipality and must disappear to make way for an expanding industry.

Bitter for residents of Moerdijk
The municipality of Moerdijk consists of eleven places, of which the village of Moerdijk is one of them. For residents of the municipality who have insulation plans and have a house with a WOZ value up to 476,000, the flag can be raised. The subsidy scheme has been expanded for them.

This expansion of course also applies to the residents of the village of Moerdijk, but because there is a good chance that all homes will disappear within ten years, such an additional investment opportunity in the future is bitter.

Extra money from the government
The decision to expand the subsidy pot was already taken last week, but was actively announced by the municipality on Friday. The largest extension of the subsidy rules mainly concerns the value of houses that are eligible for extra money from the government. Until last week, this was possible up to a value of 321,000. Now that value has been increased by a very large amount to 476,000.

Sustainability councilor Bennie Blom hopes that the expanded regulations for insulation will make more residents comfortable.
