Defense buys 100 radars that provide early warning of approaching drones. The first copies will be delivered tomorrow. The systems are able to distinguish drones from birds and other moving objects. Defense and the Dutch company Robin Radar confirmed this today with signatures.

The radars give the armed forces more time to take action. Various units across the Defense Department use radar. Furthermore, they are distributed across air bases and other critical infrastructure.
Incidents
Due to the urgency, both Defense and Robin Radar are committed to delivery as quickly as possible. This has to do with incidents in which drones were spotted above the Volkel and Eindhoven air bases.
The 100 radars do not all arrive at the same time. The first ones will be handed over tomorrow and all radars are expected to be delivered in 2026. The corresponding vehicles will arrive early next year.
