A tortilla burger, i.e. a combination of a tortilla and a burger, is an easy and quick everyday meal.

Tortillaburgers have become a popular trend food on social media. Several food influencers have shared their versions of an easy everyday treat.

Food influencer by Elizabeth Assender the interpretation of the tortilla burger caught the attention of Iltalehti’s news manager Mika Seppänen attention on Instagram. Assender publishes recipes on his account called foodie_lilly. Seppänen decided to test the recipe and fell in love.

According to Seppänen, the magic of the recipe lies in the sauce.

PRESCRIPTION

Ingredients (two tortilla burgers)

200 grams of ground beef

2 small tortillas

salt and pepper

2 slices of melted cheddar cheese

salad

(chopped cocktail cucumbers)

Sauce

1 tsp ketchup

1 teaspoon of Greek yogurt

1 tsp dijon mustard

1 teaspoon of chopped cocktail cucumbers and 1 teaspoon of their liquid

1 teaspoon chopped onion

1 crushed garlic clove

salt

This is how you do it

1. Mix the sauce ingredients together and let it brew.

2. Press a thin layer of minced meat on top of the tortillas. Taste with salt and pepper.

3. Heat the oil in a pan and put the tortilla on the hot pan with the minced meat side down. Fry for a few minutes until the minced meat is browned.

4. Use a spatula to flip the flatbread and add a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Lower the heat and put the lid on the pan. Bake for another moment until the cheese has melted.

5. Transfer to a plate and add salad, sauce and, if desired, chopped cocktail cucumbers. Fold the tortillas in half and enjoy.
