The Diddy documentary “The Reckoning” by producer 50 Cent is said to focus on serious allegations against the rapper. More information here.

50 Cent has developed a documentary series about Sean “Diddy” Combs – and it’s coming out on December 2nd, 2025. The documentary, titled “Sean Combs: The Reckoning,” centers on the rap mogul’s allegations of sexual misconduct. The film was directed by Alexandria Stapleton (who directed “Reggie,” among others).

“I’m grateful to everyone who came forward and shared their stories with us,” 50 Cent said of the upcoming series, according to Hot New Hip Hop. “And I’m proud to have Alexandria Stapleton join us as director on this project to bring this important story to the screen.”

Diddy documentary is intended as a wake-up call

“This isn’t just about Sean Combs’ story or Cassie’s story or any of the victims’ stories or the allegations against him or the trial,” filmmaker Alexandria Stapleton added. By Cassie she means Diddy’s ex-partner Casandra Elizabeth Ventura, an American singer, actress and model. In 2023, Ventura filed a civil lawsuit alleging sexual abuse and rape against Combs, which was settled for an unknown payment.

“Ultimately, this story is a mirror that reflects us as a public and what we say when we put our celebrities on such a high pedestal. I hope this documentary is a wake-up call for how we idolize people and that we understand that everyone is human,” said Stapleton.

This is what happens to the documentary proceeds

50 Cent had already announced on December 7, 2023 that he would be developing a documentary series about Sean “Diddy” Combs. According to 50 Cent, proceeds from the project would go to the people behind the allegations of sexual assault and rape.

Netflix finally officially announced production of the series on September 25, 2024 – a week after Combs was arrested on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation for the purpose of prostitution.

“This is a story with significant human implications. It is a complex narrative that spans decades and is not just the headlines or snippets we have seen so far,” 50 Cent and Stapleton said in a statement to Variety at the time.

“We remain true to our commitment to giving a voice to the voiceless and presenting authentic and nuanced perspectives. While the allegations are disturbing, we want to remind everyone that the story of Sean Combs is not the whole story of hip-hop and its culture. We want to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the broader contributions to this culture.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs violates prison rules

In October 2025, Diddy was sentenced to 50 months in prison and a $500,000 fine. He was found guilty of two counts of transportation for the purpose of prostitution. However, he was acquitted of criminal conspiracy charges and two sex trafficking charges.

He was supposed to be released in May 2028 – now Diddy will probably have to wait until June of that year. He is reportedly said to have violated the rules of the Fort Dix Detention Center – he is accused of drinking home-brewed alcohol and participating in three-way conferences at the facility, even though these are strictly forbidden.
