Suddenly Diede van den Heuvel from Someren received a call from Studio 100 asking: “Would you like to play the role of Sleeping Beauty?” She didn’t have to think about that for a second. In May she will be on stage in the theater in Belgium.
“I really didn’t see it coming,” says the 25-year-old enthusiastically in the radio program KEIgoeiemorgen! from Omroep Brabant. As a child she always watched the musical Doornroosje.
On stage with her example
It is also a dream for Diede that she will soon be in the theater together with Free Souffriau, her role model. “I have always followed her. She used to play Sleeping Beauty and has done all the major productions of Studio 100 in Belgium.”
Free plays Diede’s mother in the musical Doornroosje. “She recently said that I just have to put my own spin on it. I’m glad she’s there, because then I can learn a lot from her, I think.”
K2 is looking for K3
De Somerense is no stranger to Studio 100. She lost the adventure K2 seeks K3 in 2021, but a year later she was on stage with the girls of K3 to fill in for Hanne Verbruggen, who was pregnant at the time.
She doesn’t actually know why Studio 100 keeps coming back to Diede. “But I’m very happy with it. I’m very grateful that they called me again.”
Diede says that they will start rehearsing at the end of March. From May 1, Doornroosje can be seen in the Studio 100 Theater De Panne.
