Monique Hansler threw her former daughter-in-law Denise van der Laan out on the street during the recording of their new SBS 6 soap, says Aran Bade. “She ended up in a caravan!”
Much to the chagrin of reality monster Monique Hansler and her docile son Mike Hansler, it has come out prematurely: his breakup with Denise van der Laan. The two wanted to use that to boost the viewing figures of their soap, but Denise no longer wanted to keep her mouth shut and confirmed the break to RTL Boulevard.
Bullying behavior
A good thing, according to show expert Aran Bade. “She was actually muzzled until the start of this series,” he says RTL Boulevard.
Colleague Daphne Bunskoek: “She was not allowed to say that the relationship was over.”
Aran: “Yes, like: you won’t come to the press presentation, because you can’t keep it up and you need a psychologist, that’s not possible, you’re very unstable. I think it’s shameful that the mother-in-law’s frustration was taken out on Denise with a bit of bullying behavior.”
Branch woman
Luuk Ikink takes a more nuanced view. According to him, Denise knew what she was getting into. Daphne then: “Yes, but you don’t expect to be treated like that, do you?”
According to Luuk, Denise already knew that Monique is present and dominant. Daphne: “Yes, there, but now it’s just bullying!”
Denise previously said that she thinks Mo is such a nice woman, according to Luuk. Colleague Miljuschka Witzenhausen then: “Yes, but what are you going to say about your mother-in-law? ‘Takkewijf’? No, that’s not possible!”
Caravan
Finally: how did the breakup between Mike and Denise come about? Aran: “We have found out where things went wrong later. No images were made of this. That soap was recorded in phases. The camera crews left when the break-up occurred, but several sources tell us today in Spain that she ended up in a caravan.”
Hey? “Yes, that no one helped her anymore and that the production team did not allow her to call anyone, because then it would leak that she was no longer with that family. In short: there was a lot of fuss there. Mo would have heard that she would have talked negatively about Mo behind her back and then she threw her out of the house.”
Horror movie
And so that’s all used for TV entertainment. Scandalous, says Jordi Versteegden. “I think it’s a horror movie that we’re watching. I think it’s really terribly bad television. Sorry to have to say it here on SBS 6. Let’s be honest: there are also boundaries with reality TV and you cross an ethical boundary here,” he says in Show news.
“What I find difficult is that Monique is not contradicted in any way, by anyone. Then you can say what you want about Massa is Kassa, we also think Peter Gillis is a jerk from time to time, but he is still contradicted in that program. I think that is very bad about this,” he concludes.
