In the biathlon winter of 2024/25, Eric Perrot finally made his way to the top of the world: The 24-year-old Frenchman won his first individual world championship title in Lenzerheide, celebrated his second and third victories in the World Cup and took third place in the fight for the yellow jersey. No wonder that Perrot is planning a really big coup in the coming season.

“Of course I want to give it my all right from the start,” “Nordic Magazine” quoted the two-time mixed relay world champion as saying. Of course, he also has a particular eye on the Olympic Games in February, but in order to compete in top form, he has to “give 100 percent every day,” said Perrot. “Without that, performance is impossible. So my goal is to go full throttle from the start and I know that my body will react positively to that. That’s why I will use all the races before the Games as very good reference points to come to the Games in top shape.”

Even if it looks like that in some races, it is simply impossible to achieve something if you only compete half-heartedly, emphasized the biathlon superstar.

Perrot confirmed that the early form was good with strong results in preparation. Among other things, he won the traditional “Sesongstart” in Norway and the city biathlon in Dresden.

Biathlon: Good preparation is not important, but…

However, Perrot doesn’t particularly value his good performance in the past few weeks: “It’s not important because it has no influence on the results of the coming races,” said the former relay junior world champion, but also admits that the victories had increased his self-confidence.

However, it will be important from November 29th, when the first biathlon competition of the season is on the program in Östersund, Sweden. The women open the winter with a relay race, the men start shortly afterwards in the same format. Perrot and the French are then among the absolute top favorites.
