RB Leipzig must now sign new national player Assan Ouedraogo waive. The 19-year-old is in… Bundesliga game against Werder Bremen (2:0) sustained a tendon injury in the back of his left knee during a duel in the 53rd minute. Nevertheless, he continued to play until injury time, when he was substituted. The medical examinations confirmed the diagnosis on Monday and, according to the club, the 19-year-old will probably be missing for a few weeks, the Leipzig team announced on Tuesday afternoon (November 25th).
“Perfect week” for the youngster
The midfielder, who came to Pleiße from FC Schalke 04 in the summer of 2024, has recently been in the spotlight. He first made his debut in the German national teamscored there two minutes after coming on as a substitute Gala performance of the DFB team against Slovakia in Leipzig his first goal for national coach Julian Nagelsmann’s team. Yan Diomande (archive photo) was also injured in the game against Werder Bremen, but will probably be able to play.
In addition, summer newcomer Yan Diomande was also injured. The striker suffered a broken nose on Sunday and will train and play with an individually adapted protective mask in the next few days “depending on the healing process,” said RBL.
