David Abrangao (21) convinced those responsible at the gaming association from Fürth and, after securing his regular place, also secured a new working paper until 2028. It is the first professional contract for the left-back, who initially came to the Kleeblatt reserves in the Bavarian Regional League from Türkgücü Munich in the summer. On his second division debut on the eighth matchday against Hannover, he scored the goal as a joker to make the final score 2-2.
“David did very well for us. He took advantage of the opportunity during the preparation and continued to make a very good impression afterwards,” explained Fürth’s sports director Stephan Fürstner. “I am pleased that he benefited from the close ties with the NLZ and was able to make the leap to the top within a very short time and also show other players in the NLZ that the door is open.”
Abrangao started the season in the Middle Franconian second team with ten appearances in the regional league. After his debut, professional coach Thomas Kleine also used him in the DFB Cup against Kaiserslautern (0-1) and four more times in the 2nd Bundesliga – starting in each of the last four games. “David brings a very good mix with him, because in addition to his talent, he also shows a great willingness to work on himself,” explained coach Kleine and emphasized Abrangao’s “will to commit on the pitch and the willingness to throw himself into every duel”.
The Munich-born Abrangao said about his new contract, which ties him to Ronhof for two and a half years: “Of course you always hope that it will happen so quickly, but to be honest: I didn’t think it would happen so quickly in the summer, even though it was already shown to me that there could be a way up for me. I am very grateful for the support and will do everything I can to repay the trust.”
