Freiburg’s youngster Johan Manzambi has three scorers in nine Bundesliga games so far this season. According to a report, the 20-year-old midfielder has attracted interest from numerous clubs with his performances. SSC Naples is said to be most specifically interested, as they are looking for a short-term replacement for director Kevin De Bruyne, who has been out for a long time.

This is reported by the TV channel “Sky”. Accordingly, there has already been an initial exchange with the Serie A club. Veteran De Bruyne is expected to be missing from the Italians until March next year due to a hamstring injury. Manzambi’s contract in Breisgau is dated until 2030. In 2024 he was promoted from the SC second team to the professionals, where he played eleven Bundesliga games in his debut season, in which he contributed four scorers. A balance that Manzambi is already close to after eleven match days in the current season; under coach Julian Schuster, the 1.82 meter tall right-footer is in the starting line-up. Manzambi also made his debut in the Swiss national team in the summer of 2025. He has now made eight appearances for the Swiss and can have legitimate hopes of taking part in the World Cup. Its market value increased from 750 thousand to 15 million euros over the past year.
The speculation about a possible departure of the player in the winter is also being discussed a lot in the transfer market rumor mill. “I can’t imagine that Napoli would pay the transfer fee that would be necessary,” attests TM user “roqueFort” with reference to the length of the contract in Freiburg. But if no PL club that meets his sporting expectations asks, no one will pay 50 million or more. And if we’re talking about 35 to 45 million, Naples is of course in the running, like most teams from the European top 20. I don’t think Freiburg is in this case 40 million package.”
