The Dutch fashion trade fair Shift is pushing ahead with its expansion into Germany and is appointing a show director who has trade fair experience and most recently worked for Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf.

The organizers have appointed Thimo Schwenz Feier as show director for Germany, Shift announced. The report follows the announcement that a trade fair is being planned at the Fredenhagen event center near Offenbach. “It is an inspiring challenge to build Shift in Germany and create a fresh, future-oriented platform for both established brands and emerging designers,” said Schwenz Feier. “Now is the right time to start new initiatives in Germany, come together again and take the next steps. This is the beginning of a new chapter

Trade fair expert takes over German market

Schwenz Feier comes from the Düsseldorf fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg (P&C), where he was general sales manager for the sustainably-oriented “Conscious Fashion Store” in Berlin until May. He also brings experience with trade fair experience. Before P&C, he worked for around a year as Head of Marketing & PR at the Greentecg Festival in Berlin and for almost nine years in various positions for the trade fair organizer Messe Frankurt, most recently as Show Director Neonyt.

Schwenz Feier will act as a contact person for Shift Germany and will also support German brands that want to take part in Shift Amsterdam.

“Thimo is humble, professional, experienced and excellently trained,” says Shift founder Rick van Rijthoven. “He is a perfect addition to our Dutch team and a strong representative of who we are.”

Shift recently announced that it is exploring the possibility of a debut in Germany in June 2026. This will not only be a trade fair for men’s fashion, but also women’s fashion and accessories. The press release states that it is “a carefully curated, independent B2B event that brings together the entire fashion ecosystem of a country”. In Germany, Shift will focus on the middle and higher segments, but will also offer a platform to young talent.
