Wierd Duk angrily left the NPO talk show Dit is de Dag this weekend because he said he had been lured there under false pretenses. Now he puts an app online…

For the first time since Johan Derksen, someone has walked away from a talk show on national television: Telegraaf journalist Wierd Duk. He left EO’s Dit is de Week this weekend, after he was severely attacked by opinion maker Ronit Palache. She took the time to criticize his working methods and verbally disrespect him.

Criticism of Wierd

Wierd didn’t feel like it and ran away. According to him, it was not the agreement that it would be about him, despite Dit is de Dag now claiming otherwise on its website. The editors report: “We have invited Wierd Duk to discuss our Christian culture and how we can relate to it.”

“One of our regular guests, Ronit Palache, indicated in advance that she was not in favor of inviting Wierd Duk, because of her objections to his working method. She stated that she would mention this in the broadcast.”

Character assassination

According to the EO editorial staff, this has also been communicated to Wierd. “The editors informed Wierd Duk in advance that Ronit Palache had criticism of his working method and would also express this during the broadcast.”

An outright lie, the Telegraaf journalist now responds. “Okay, because you yourself have decided to spin it this way, here is – as an exception because I have really had enough of your character assassination – the app in question.”

App online

What does that app say to Wierd? The following: “Hi Wierd, I heard from Margje that you would like to be the main guest at Dit is de Week next Saturday evening. The intention is to have a nice, extensive conversation about the defense of Christian culture.”

“As regular commentators we have at the table: GJ Segers, who largely agrees with you in this respect, except for the tone, and Ronit Palache, who with her Jewish background is on the progressive secular side.
We think it could be a nice, reflective conversation. Can I call you about that today or tomorrow?”

Nice conversation

It does indeed appear that Wierd was lured to the studio under false pretenses, says his follower Guus. “How does the EO think that it can become ‘a nice reflective conversation’ if there is someone at the table who indicated in advance that he was ‘not in favor of the invitation to Wierd Duk’? 🙄”

In any case, NPO star Mischa Blok agrees with Wierd. She says on
