The Eisbären Berlin won the top game of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) at the Straubing Tigers.

The Polar Bears Berlin won the top game of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) against the Straubing Tigers. The German champions won against the league leaders 4:2 (1:1, 1:0, 2:1). Liam Kirk contributed three goals to the well-deserved away win, and Mitchell Reinke also scored for the capital.

In front of 5,635 spectators in the sold-out ice rink at the Pulverturm, the home team got off to a lightning start. Tyler Madden successfully completed a solo effort in the second minute. The Berliners initially had difficulty creating clear chances. Only Kirk scored after an energetic individual effort to equalize (13th).

Shortly after the first break, the Brit was once again the center of attention: with his second goal, he gave the guests the lead (22nd). Both teams then created a few good opportunities, but the next goal only came in the final period: Reinke extended Berlin’s lead with a precise long-range shot (44′).
