November 23 – 6.17pm – MILAN

Trieste remains bitter for Milan: like last year, Olimpia falls at PalaTrieste and is hooked in the standings by the Giulians. Second consecutive defeat in the championship for the team from Messina, the fourth of the season: the match was decided in a sprint, with the home team leading for large stretches and resisting the Milanese comeback. The man of the match is Jahmi’us Ramsey, who crowns a great performance with decisive plays in the last minute both in attack and defense, sealing the result at 86-82. The first sliding door of the match arrives after a few minutes, because both Nebo and Guduric commit two fouls and Messina is forced to recall them to the bench. Sissoko takes advantage of this, dominating in the area in the axis with Ruzzier, and Trieste picks up pace with the ball movement to build 3-point shots: the percentages reward the Giulians (6/11 in the first quarter), who find a first extension after 6′ (22-16) and reach +9 thanks to the triple by Toscano-Anderson in the 10th minute (30-21). After a few too many turnovers and Trieste’s maximum lead (37-24 at 14′), Milan comes back thanks to Shields’ defense and initiatives: at half-time the hosts are ahead 44-41.

recovery

After a back and forth between Ramsey-Sissoko and Shields-Ellis, Trieste finds a new lead (67-58 at 28′) returning to score from 3 with Moretti and Brown, but a fiery Armoni Brooks brings everything back into balance by unleashing himself in the fourth period. We enter the last minute at 82-82, and Ramsey takes center stage: he scores the +2 by going to the rim, then defends brilliantly on Shields, forcing Olimpia into an error, and closes the match with 2/2 on the line.

Trieste: Ramsey 26, Brown 17, Sissoko 16

Milan: Brooks 22, Shields 18, Ellis 14
