Vandromme defeated Uzbek sixth seed Maria Timofeeva in two sets in the semi-finals: 6-4 and 6-0. The match lasted one hour and 27 minutes. In the final match, the West Flemish woman will play against the German Eva Bennemann, who beat the Czech Barbora Palicova 6-1 and 6-2.
Vandromme, only eighteen, qualified for the World Group in the Billie Jean King Cup with the Belgian tennis women last weekend, after victories in their qualifying group against Turkey and Germany. Vandromme opened her honors list at ITF level in March with the overall victory in Manacor, Spain, and subsequently also won in Roehampton, England, and Monastir, Tunisia, where she even triumphed twice in a row. In recent weeks she has also won the US Open for juniors and the prestigious ITF Junior Finals.
