FC Bayern can also make great comebacks. After 20 minutes of deep sleep and a 2-0 deficit, the German champions, driven by top scorer Michael Olise and youngster Lennart Karl, rallied to an even more brilliant 6:2 (2:2) against SC Freiburg. So everything was normal in the Munich Arena after an anything but normal Bundesliga afternoon.
The goals for the still unbeaten league leaders were scored by Karl (22nd minute), the twice successful Olise (45th + 2/84th), Dayot Upamecano (55th), Harry Kane (60th) and Nicolas Jackson (71st), who came on for the ailing Karl.
After a dream start, Freiburg got a sniff of their first Bundesliga win in Munich in the 26th attempt. Yuito Suzuki (12th) and Johan Manzambi (17th) caused great amazement in the sold-out Allianz Arena with their goals from corner kicks from Jan-Niklas Beste. What’s wrong with the all-powerful Munich team, asked the 75,000 spectators in the stands? Later, if they were Bayern sympathizers, they were able to celebrate six goals and the next victory.
Adeyemi scores, Undav shocks BVB: VfB Stuttgart scores 3-3
Borussia Dortmund missed the perfect farewell present for outgoing BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke. One day before his departure after more than 20 years in management, BVB only managed a turbulent 3-3 draw against VfB Stuttgart despite a 2-0 half-time lead. This means that Dortmund remained winless against the Swabians in their seventh competitive game in a row.
VfB remains level on points with BVB with 22 points. A hat-trick from Deniz Undav (47th minute/71st/90th+1) gave the guests a fair draw. Substitute Karim Adeyemi, of all people, would have made the story of the game with his goal to make it 3-2 (89th) before Undav struck again. There had recently been a lot of fuss surrounding Adeyemi because of a criminal order for illegal possession of weapons. Emre Can (34th minute/foul penalty) and Maximilian Beier (41st) had put Dortmund in the lead before the break.
FC Augsburg and Wagner with a redeeming win against HSV
FC Augsburg and coach Sandro Wagner have won again after three defeats in the Bundesliga and have at least silenced the increasingly loud critics. The Swabians celebrated a deserved 1-0 (0-0) win against Hamburger SV. Anton Kade became the match winner for FCA with his goal in the 76th minute, who saved the success after yellow-red against Keven Schlotterbeck (81st).
In the table, Augsburg (10 points) moved past HSV (9) and can now hope for a more friendly general meeting on Tuesday. The fact that FCA kept a clean sheet for the first time this season also helps. Hamburg only got one point from five games and is only two points away from the relegation place. If St. Pauli wins against Union Berlin on Sunday, then HSV will also be overtaken by their local rivals.
At the premiere: Gladbach coach Polanski increases Heidenheim’s problems
Eugen Polanski’s successful debut as Gladbach head coach has further exacerbated 1. FC Heidenheim’s already precarious situation in the relegation battle. Four days after being promoted from the interim to the permanent solution, Polanski and his team clearly won 3-0 (1-0) against the bottom of the table.
Kevin Diks initiated the third league win in a row for the resurgent Gladbach team with a penalty (45th minute +1) shortly before half-time. After the break, striker Haris Tabakovic (55th) and substitute Shuto Machino (76th) made the decision.
This meant that the Foals distanced themselves from the relegation zone for the time being after a weak start to the season in the Bundesliga. The Gladbachers were also pleased about the comeback of national striker Tim Kleindienst, who played for the last few minutes of the season for the first time after his knee injury at his former club.

VfL Wolfsburg continues to lose even after coaching separation
VfL Wolfsburg has continued its sporting decline even after parting ways with coach Paul Simonis and is stumbling more and more towards the bottom of the table. The Lower Saxony team lost 1:3 (0:3) against Bayer Leverkusen under interim coach Daniel Bauer and are still waiting for their first home win since mid-January. Leverkusen, on the other hand, continued their upswing and secured themselves in the top group of the Bundesliga.
In front of 25,036 spectators in the Volkswagen Arena, the guests made things clear in the first round. Jonas Hofmann (9th minute), Edmond Tapsoba (24th) and Malik Tillmann (33rd) took a reassuring lead. After the break, Denis Vavro only managed to quickly make it 1:3 for the hosts (57th).
