Bayern have an unusual look against Freiburg. The “T” on the warm-up shirt is rotated 180 degrees. There is a specific reason for this.

When FC Bayern warms up on the Allianz Arena pitch on Saturday, the professionals will wear an upside-down “T” on their clothes. It is the logo of the main sponsor Telekom, which is deliberately rotated 180 degrees for the game against SC Freiburg (from 3:30 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online). The rotated version of the well-known trademark will also be visible on the LED boards around the field and during the well-known fan campaign in the stands.

There is an advertising campaign behind it. Telekom is using the game to draw attention to the fifth and final season of the successful Netflix series “Stranger Things”. The allusion to the so-called Upside Down, the parallel world within the series, is symbolized by the upside down logo.

The start of the new season is scheduled for November 27th. In Germany it will also be available to watch via Telekom’s streaming service, MagentaTV. However, a paid subscription is required for this.
