Last year, more than 500 babies were removed from problematic home situations

The number of babies and small toddlers who are removed from their home due to a disturbing situation has risen sharply in Flanders in recent years. In 2020, the Growing Up Agency counted 410 out-of-home placements of children up to and including two years old. Last year this increased to 543 out-of-home placements.
