In the Friday evening of the Suomi series, we saw a streaky raid, when Järvenpää’s Hawks beat Kotka’s Titans with a score of 12–2.
One of the biggest names of the evening was Haukoken Leevi Selännewho forged a hat-trick and served a pass on top of this Eeli Luhtanen to a 4–0 hit.
Four power points raised his initial pace in the Hawks’ shirt to a handsome one: the balance of the two matches is now 4+2. Selänne recently joined the team from the Mestis club Kiekko-Poj, where he only played one match.
However, Selänne was not the most effective player in the match, because Haukoukon Aaron Palmu grabbed power 1+4 from the match. Also Emil Vilen was on the attack in the match, because he caught the powers 1+3.
It was a painful night for the Titans, and especially the goalkeeper Atte Pulpawho got in the way of the puck no less than 53 times, but was still able to pick up 12 hits behind his back. In the goal of the Hawks Roope Koskinen survived much easier with 20 saves.
Leevi is an NHL legend Teemu Selänten son.
