Klamer and RTL announced his departure in a shared statement. The decision was said to have been taken in good consultation.
Together with Humberto Tan, Beau van Erven Dorens and from next year Leonie ter Braak, he presented the talk program that has been attracting moderate viewing figures almost since its start at the end of August. There are evenings that RTL tonight doesn’t come close to 400,000 viewers.
‘Huge disillusionment’
In an initial response, Aran Bade adjusts RTL boulevard that Klamer’s departure must be a ‘huge disillusionment’ for the team of the troubled talk show. With his own talk show Renze Klamer usually attracted double the number of viewers.
RTL boss Peter van der Vorst says in a response: “In close consultation with RTL and Renze Klamer, it has been decided that he will withdraw as presenter of RTL tonight. RTL and Renze agree that the current format does not suit him well.”
