Abbondanza made a statement to the press after the match played at Burhan Felek Vestel Volleyball Hall.
Explaining that they played a good game, Abbondanza said, “I am happy because derbies are always special matches. We did not play our best volleyball, but we did not give up. We got an important win for ourselves and our fans. We had played difficult matches before. Galatasaray played a good game. We had difficult moments, but we won. That was the most important thing.” he said.
Eda Erdem, captain of the yellow-dark blue team, stated that it was a match worthy of a derby and made the following evaluations:
“It lasted nearly three hours, we didn’t notice it at all while we were playing with the adrenaline of the match. It was a good match. Maybe we couldn’t play a good game. We played well from time to time, but we couldn’t serve well throughout the match. We couldn’t get good headlines. We couldn’t play a team game because of thinking about our mistakes.
