Paris Jackson makes serious accusations against her father’s estate administrators and warns against wrong decisions regarding biopics and asset management.

Disagreements between Paris Jackson and the executors of her father Michael Jackson’s estate continue. The 27-year-old is “increasingly concerned” that the administration of the estate, including the long-awaited biopic “Michael,” is less about building long-term wealth for the family and more about “enriching and glorifying” her late father’s executors. In particular, she accuses one of the two executors of having exploited the estate to get the only prominent actor in the cast to portray himself in the biopic about Michael Jackson.

Objection to account statements filed

As “Billboard” reported, the daughter of the late pop singer filed an objection against the bank statements for 2021 with the responsible probate court on November 18th. It said the executors “completely failed to invest cash competently, while at the same time deploying capital only where it had the potential to compensate them personally.”

Paris Jackson accuses enforcers of self-enrichment

According to Paris Jackson, estate executors John McClain and John Branca left over $464 million unused because they “did not share in the profits” from long-term investments. Instead, Jackson said, the A&R executive and attorney “focused on putting as much money as possible into projects related to the entertainment industry,” for which they said the executors received a 15 percent commission.

Means of self-glorification?

“Paris is increasingly concerned that the estate has become a means for John Branca to enrich and glorify himself rather than serve the interests of the beneficiaries and steadfastly protect her father’s legacy,” the court filing said, according to Billboard. It continues: “Indeed, it appears that Mr. Branca has used his position as executive producer, a role he has never previously held on a feature film, to hire the production’s only A-list actor, Miles Teller, to play himself in the upcoming biopic ‘Michael.’

In the past, Paris Jackson had repeatedly criticized not only Branca and McClain, but also the biopic “Michael”. In a series of Instagram posts in September, she complained that the script contained “many inaccuracies” and “outright lies.” The film is scheduled to be released in April 2026.

Michael Jackson’s estate made large sums of money under Branca and McClain. Despite the more than $500 million in debt the artist left behind in 2009, the estate is now worth $2 billion, executors claim. They attribute “unprecedented success” to their business strategies.
