The Clubs Union Foundation published a comprehensive announcement on the subject, stating that it was closely following the statement regarding illegal betting and efforts to influence the match outcome, shared with the public by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
In the statement, it was emphasized that Turkish football covers a very large family, from club presidents and managers to referees, from athletes to technical teams, from media representatives to fans. It was stated that the reputation of this great structure can only be protected by fair competition, honesty and sports ethics.
The Clubs Association stated that it is unacceptable and will never be tolerated for any stakeholder to engage in illegal betting or to try to influence the match outcome for profit.
