Tech companies win in the run-up to Nvidia figures

YOUniversal Music Group strikes a positive chord with investors and ends with a gain of 6.2 percent at the top of the AEX. The music label is unlikely to receive European approval for the takeover of the American record label Downtown for the time being, reports Bloomberg. Universal was willing to pay $775 million for Downtown. InPost follows with a price jump of 5.5 percent.
Investors in Amsterdam are also looking forward to the quarterly results of AI giant Nvidia. In the run-up, the tech funds are winning ASMI, Besie and ASML 1.3 to 2.4 percent.
Ahold Delhaize loses 1.9 percent. Industry colleague Target has issued a profit warning, because many Americans are keeping their fingers crossed. AkzoNobel is the big loser in the main funds and loses for the second consecutive day after it announced the merger with American peer Axalta on Tuesday. The share closes 2.1 percent lower.
In the Midkap AMG (+3.7 percent) the big winner. Also Air France KLM is a high flyer with a profit of 2.9 percent. Havas loses 5.3 percent. The French advertising group would like to make a billion-dollar bid for competitor WPP. The Midkap closes 0.5 percent higher.
