FC Bayern fans have often expressed dissatisfaction with the jersey design in the past. Now a piece of clothing is being criticized that doesn’t even exist yet.

A possible new warm-up jersey from FC Bayern is angering many fans of the German record champions. The online platform “Footy Headlines” has published a design that has not yet been confirmed and will be used by the professionals from the second half of 2026. The eye-catching shirt from supplier Adidas is anything but well received by many fans.

Irregular stripes in red, blue and dark gray run across a white background – both horizontally and vertically. From a distance, the design is reminiscent of brush strokes. The criticism is clear on social networks.

One user comments: “The Adidas owner is definitely a Borussia fan.” Another asks: “April Fool’s joke? Carnival costume for November 11th?” Another demands: “Anyone who buys this warm-up shirt should be arrested.”

Despite the negative reactions, the shirt should be available in stores from December 2025. But it’s unlikely to generate much enthusiasm among the active fan scene. The design of some Bayern jerseys has already met with criticism in recent years.

Before the home game against Werder Bremen (4-0) in September, the fan association “Club No. 12” wrote: “We want a red and white jersey that stands for our identity: Mia san die Bayern!” The south curve then protested with numerous fan clubs for a simple red and white jersey.

The current home jersey is also rejected by many fans, even though it is red and white. The white “M” on the front in particular is symbolic of a development that, from the Ultras’ point of view, places too much focus on marketing. Their demand is clear: less show – more tradition.

Criteria that, in their view, the alleged new warm-up shirt probably doesn’t meet either.
