He is one of the top performers in the Norwegian team. But Vebjørn Sørum is currently having problems, the biathlete doesn’t know exactly why.

Two years ago Vebjørn Sørum made his World Cup debut. Last season the Norwegian achieved good results and took ninth place in the overall World Cup. Due to his performance, he is set for the World Cup opener in Östersund, Sweden at the end of November. But the 27-year-old threatens to miss the event.

“There’s something wrong with my body. It feels like something is blocked and I no longer have any blood circulation,” said Sørum in an interview with the Norwegian broadcaster “TV2”.

Then the almost desperate athlete added: “I’ve worked on it a lot, but no one can figure out what it is.” The biathlete himself believes in muscular overload.

The three-time European champion said with a view to being the world’s best in the World Cup: “I have zero chance in this company.” This is particularly annoying because he is “in better shape than ever before”. But the pain would slow him down: “It hurts incredibly much and I can’t push it.”

The Norwegian top performer therefore emphasized: “It can’t go on like this. We have to investigate this and find an answer. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this gets resolved quickly.” Because in his current state he doesn’t enjoy his job.
