It went on like this for four evenings. Much to Patricia’s anger and sadness. “This is terrible. What I especially think is a shame is that they don’t think. They don’t realize what they are doing to these people. They are not out here for fun. It is now bloodycoldespecially with that wind and rain. I don’t understand how you do this to people who have nothing.”

Yet she does not intend to report the vandalism. “I hope they will apologize on their own. Then we will solve it among ourselves.”

There is now a new tent, intended for four people. “It is sponsored and I am very happy with that. I now keep watch here regularly,” says Patricia. “Let’s see how things go here. Someone slept here last night. That went well.”

‘Bed and food for everyone’

The situation makes her emotional, because she is particularly concerned about the fate of this group of people. “You see big men becoming very small. I think everyone should have a bed and some food. Money is spent on everything, but not on the homeless. It is too sad for words.”

She continues to fight for the homeless, even after the destruction. “I will not be chased away from here. By nothing or no one.”
