The political analyst and pollster Federico F. González, director of Federico González y Asociados, announced on November 11 his candidacy for president for 2027. A psychologist by training, González stood out for the precision of his polls: in the PASO 2019 he was the consultant who made the least mistakes both nationally and in the province of Buenos Aires, and during 2023 he accurately anticipated the libertarian growth in CABA and the technical tie between the main forces.
Months ago, in September 2025, González had accurately predicted the defeat of La Libertad Avanza in the province of Buenos Aires against Axel Kicillof. In radio interviews he stated: “I think Peronism is going to win in the province of Buenos Aires by about three points.” He also anticipated that he would succeed “a lot in the third electoral section,” which ended up being an adverse signal for the national government and was fulfilled exactly.
On social networks he presented his platform with two key messages: “I have 100 proposals to revolutionize Argentina. Concrete. You are going to know them one by one. I am never going to ask you to vote for me. Just that you listen to me. I am serious. I want to be President.” “There are two kinds of politicians: those who keep the cake for themselves and give the People the crumbs; and those who are in charge of enlarging the cake so that everyone can eat.”
The response of journalist Eduardo Feinmann was immediate and public. In his X account he wrote: “Is it a joke? A blackmail”, in direct reference to González’s announcement.
The questioning does not point to the content of the proposals, but to the candidate’s profile: González lacks experience in public management or party militancy. His career is limited to data analysis and private consulting. For critics like Feinmann, jumping from interpreting surveys to attempting to execute high-impact policies—training a million entrepreneurs, redesigning the educational system, generating massive exports of talent—is hardly credible without ever having administered an area of government or negotiated a law.
