“Women want to be a good wife, be a good mother, be socially strong and social media plays a role in this. Somehow it is difficult to say that you have difficulty raising children,” she notes.
And that surprises her. “Because many young parents have to deal with the same things, such as bad nights, or a child who often cries. That does something to a person. Women often feel very responsible and it is often the mothers who come to me. They have often tried everything and anything.”
Keeping all the balls in the air
She emphatically does not point fingers. “I don’t say: ‘you have to do it this way or this way’, everyone feels what is needed. Many mothers are so busy keeping all the balls in the air that they lose connection with themselves.”
She often sees that parents – and especially mothers – do not take the time for themselves. “You want your children to be themselves and to take good care of themselves. But why don’t you do that for yourself?”
