The drama is complete for Wendy van Dijk: she is demoted by her employer Talpa from SBS 6 to the much smaller Net5. “The cards seem to have been definitively shuffled,” says Tina Nijkamp.
Talpa has presented his plans to the press and something very painful emerges, namely that Wendy van Dijk is definitely no longer seen as an A-star by John de Mol’s media company. She is demoted to Net5, where she will revive the dance program So You Think You Can Dance.
Cards shuffled
It would make it less painful if there were simply no studio shows left on SBS 6, but that is not the case. In fact, after The Winner Takes It All, Hélène Hendriks will also be given the comeback of the major studio show De Staatsloterijshow. In other words: Hélène is the new Wendy on SBS 6.
And that other big name from SBS 6? “Linda de Mol is going to present the new In de Ring, a big game show. And Wendy? She is going to NET5 with a new show. The cards seem to have definitely been reshuffled,” TV authority Tina Nijkamp notes on her analysis channel.
Drama and juice
A mitigating circumstance for Wendy is that Talpa appears to be investing heavily in a new profile for Net5. The most important investment is Yvonne Coldeweijer’s new daily program. It will be called The Juice and it will be shown every evening at 8 p.m.
In the early evening, De Juice will form a tandem with the new daily drama series Flo, which will be shown at 7:30 PM. This concerns a collaboration with the Flemish. “A heart-warming series about self-love, family and the courage to be who you really are,” says Talpa in the press release.
Me time
What can we expect from Yvonne? She says: “The Juice is exactly the program that I was missing: honest conversations about what is really going on in showbiz. A talk show that tells it like it is, with people at the table who are sincere, but who you can also laugh with.”
The Juice breaks with the usual entertainment format: no promotional talk and keeping friends with the stars, according to Yvonne. “It’s well-deserved me-time after a busy day, when the little one is in bed and the dishwasher is running; something I would sit down for every day.”
Finally it also returns Het Blok back at Net5with Dennis van der Geest as host.
