It is the most cringeworthy program on Dutch television: Het Were 2 Fantastic Dagen, in which a different celebrity trio sheds tears every time. Who is in season two?

Celebrities who congratulate each other, celebrities who cry to each other, celebrities who pat each other on the back: you would think that channel bosses would know that this is not appreciated at all in the current spirit of the times. Nothing could be further from the truth, because SBS 6 cheerfully launched the cringe-inducing program Het Were 2 Fantastic Dagen last year.

No filter

In the first series we saw that Glennis Grace, encouraged by Bram Moszkowicz, took on the role of victim, how Monique Westenberg and Leontine Ruiters, while crying, bombarded each other with empty Instagram sayings and how Wesley Sneijder insulted his current girlfriend by saying that he no longer has a crush these days.

In any case: cringeworthy to see, but a gold mine for the show media. Those celebrities apparently have no filter whatsoever when they are only confronted with people of their own kind.

Second series

The celebrities from the first series have really been filleted, so you would think that SBS 6 will no longer be able to find new victims, but a second season has now been announced. The new series consists of only three episodes, so there were apparently not more than nine interested celebrities there at the time.

SBS 6 says: “In the new series of 3 episodes we see Mariska Bauer, Christina Curry, Brace, Ruud de Wild, Caroline van der Plas, Estelle Cruijff, Ernst Daniël Smid, Natasja Froger and Edino van Dorsten (one of ‘the children of Ruinerwold’). All celebrities with their own story, who – sometimes for the first time – really open up to each other.”

Masks off

According to the channel, it’s a shame again. “It was two fantastic days and shows what happens when famous Dutch people lower their masks and really start a conversation.”

“No presenter, no director, no camera crew: just three people, a house full of cameras and plenty of room for honest conversations, unexpected emotions and special insights. Can be seen from Sunday, February 15, 8 p.m..”
