It appears to be difficult for many people to determine what is and is not allowed in the bin with the orange lid. The organization for sustainability, Milieu Centraal, listed a number of things where things still often go wrong.
– The pizza box, for example, can only be placed in the PMD waste if the box is very clean.
– Coffee cups belong as residual waste, but there are brands with special return systems.
– Aerosol cans sometimes end up in the PMD waste, but must be placed in the residual waste.
– Mobile phones do not belong in a container at all, but must be taken to the recycling center or in special return bins.
– Medicines must be taken to a special collection point or the recycling center and this also applies to batteries.
