Market values of up to 140 million

25 players with a market value of at least 3 million and up to 140 million euros have not played a single minute this Bundesliga season. Either because of a long-term injury or for performance reasons. FC Bayern in particular is affected by the former, with professionals worth 208 million euros still unused in German football’s upper house after the 10th matchday.
The loss of Jamal Musiala, the most valuable player in the German record champions and the Bundesliga at 140 million euros, is the most serious for the Munich team. In an international comparison, the 22-year-old is also the one with the highest market value without playing time. Musiala suffered a broken fibula as a result of an ankle dislocation during the Club World Cup against Paris Saint-Germain in July. Since then, Bayern have been missing the attacking midfielder. The first minutes of action are expected in December, and the German international should be in top shape again in January after the winter break.
In addition to Musiala, the league leaders have been without Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito for a long time. Davies tore his cruciate ligament in March and is currently in rehab training, and Ito’s last game for Bayern was in March. The Japanese player was then diagnosed with another metatarsal fracture, his third in total. Since he signed in Munich in the summer of 2024, he has only made eight appearances.
Aside from the Bayern trio, four other players have a market value of at least 10 million euros and have not yet played a Bundesliga minute: TSG Hoffenheim striker Adam Hlozek, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s top scorer Tim Kleindienst and the two Leipzig players Benjamin Henrichs and Amadou Haidara. While the first three are also slowed down by injuries, this only partially applies to Haidara. The central midfielder also had to struggle with muscular problems at times, but above all he has been considered a candidate for departure from RB for a long time. According to a “Kicker” report, Haidara has already been told internally that there is no future for him in Leipzig. His contract with the Saxons expires at the end of the season and work towards a separation will begin in the winter.
Gladbach was hit hard by the long absence of captain Kleindienst, who is the most valuable player in the Foals’ squad with 17 million euros. He contributed 16 goals last season and was therefore responsible for 29 percent of all Gladbach goals. The club, which has recently been in crisis, currently has 13 goals from ten games – only five clubs have celebrated even fewer goals.
No playing time: Stergiou & Silas before VfB farewell – Kabar wants to leave BVB
For performance reasons, Leipzig’s Maarten Vandevoordt, who lost out in the goalkeeper duel with Péter Gulácsi but is allowed to stand between the posts in the DFB Cup, or VfB Stuttgart’s Leonidas Stergiou, who only played for the second team in the 3rd league in the last few weeks after tearing a syndesmotic ligament, currently have no chance. The right-back should be allowed to leave the Swabians on loan; his working paper is dated until 2028. Silas also had to fight his way back from an ankle injury, but has yet to play a minute in 2025/26. Like Stergiou, he is also a candidate for a farewell, his contract ends in the summer. Advisor Mehmet Eser recently told “Bild”: “Silas is 100 percent fit again and is showing his performance in training. He can’t do anything more.”
Almugera Kabar is said to have already submitted his wish to change to those responsible in Dortmund. Due to a lack of prospects, the left-back, who has so far only been allowed to play for BVB II in the Regionalliga West, wants to leave the black and yellow in the winter – permanently or on loan with the option to buy. The Premier League is considered the preferred destination. While Kabar has yet to play a Bundesliga minute this season, two other Dortmund players have yet to miss one. Goalkeeper Gregor Kobel and central defender Waldemar Anton are part of a group of 30 players who have played 900 minutes so far.
