Felix Auger-Aliassime is the last semifinalist of the ATP Finals: tomorrow, at 8.30 pm, he will face Carlos Alcaraz. In the match that concluded the first phase of the “tournament of the masters”, the Canadian beat Alexander Zverev in two sets, with a score of 6-4 7-6 (4), in 2 hours and 7 minutes. It was a sort of quarter-final: between the two, there was a place in the G4 in Turin up for grabs. In the Borg group, dominated by Sinner, Auger-Aliassime and Zverev appeared paired on the final day, with one victory and one defeat each (Shelton already eliminated, with zero odds). Whoever won the direct clash would have finished the group in second position.

The Canadian prevailed, already the protagonist of an exceptional season finale which allowed him to overcome the deficit on Lorenzo Musetti by placing eighth in the Race and ensuring qualification for the Finals for the second time in his career (he exited in the group stage in 2022). And there was also a comeback at the Inalpi Arena: after the initial defeat against Sinner, Auger-Aliassime beat Shelton and, finally, Zverev. The Canadian, against the world number 3, won the first set by placing the decisive break in the tenth game, and then tamed the tie break of the second with a score of 7-4. Now, on his way, is the king of the ranking Alcaraz, who has closed the Connors group in the lead.
