The English national football team has extended its impeccable record in World Cup qualifying and also won its seventh game without conceding a goal.
Coach Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions, who have already qualified for the 2026 World Cup, won a lackluster 2-0 (1-0) against Serbia at Wembley Stadium.
Bukayo Saka (28th) with a fantastic left-footed shot and Eberechi Eze (90th) scored the victory for the English, who also remained without conceding a goal in the seventh qualifying game. Real star Jude Bellingham, who was not guaranteed a starting eleven by Tuchel and was recently missing from the squad, was substituted on in the 65th minute. Tuchel again relied on Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa in the tenth position.
Meanwhile, Serbia’s dream of the World Cup was shattered: the team led by former Frankfurt player Filip Kostic can no longer reach the play-offs thanks to Albania’s 1-0 win in Andorra.
