At around 8 a.m., the suspect entered a home in Bruges and took the resident’s car keys and handbag. The man then drove away with the car and was located shortly afterwards by ANPR cameras. This led to an intensive police chase, which ended when the suspect drove his car into a tree near the intersection of Maalse Steenweg and Vijversdreef.
Arrest
The 34-year-old man from Bruges was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital for medical care. In the afternoon he could be interrogated at the police station.
