The upheaval at the management level in Lower Saxony continues: Now Sebastian Schindzielorz also has to go.

Now it’s official: VfL Wolfsburg has also parted ways with sports director Sebastian Schindzielorz a few days after the dismissal of coach Paul Simonis. The club announced this on its website on Thursday afternoon.

“Sebastian has always shown full commitment to VfL Wolfsburg – loyal, committed and with a high level of professional competence,” sports director Peter Christiansen is quoted as saying in the club statement. “In the current sporting situation, however, we have decided that we need new impulses in this position. I would like to expressly thank Sebastian for his work and commitment to VfL Wolfsburg and wish him all the best for his future.”

Wolfsburg has lost seven of its last eight competitive games and has fallen to 14 in the Bundesliga. The hapless Simonis, who had only taken over the team at the start of the season, was fired on Monday.
