The public investigation is currently ongoing. The works themselves should start just before the summer of 2026. A first tunnel element of 36 meters long would then be slid under the tracks in the autumn. At the request of the neighborhood, there will also be a separate tunnel for pedestrians and cyclists. The works are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027.
Both tunnels are estimated to cost 4.5 million euros. The City of Bruges must expropriate one person.
