There are strong rumors going around about the marriage of Jandino Asporaat (44), which is said to be in dire straits. The cake would be over with his childhood sweetheart Shirley, with whom he has been together for 28 (!) years, so since he was sixteen. He denied those problems yesterday in De Telegraaf, but on video Show news that denial doesn’t look very convincing.
“Good marriage?”
Jandino does not immediately issue a denial, but refers to his theater show. “Then you should watch the show! What is a good marriage? I have a marriage, but in the show you will find out what a good marriage is. I am very honest, right, about my marriage.”
The reporter on duty is surprised: “But I still don’t know anything!”
For 28 years
Jandino then tries to be a little more open. “No, but I have been with Shirley for 28 years and 28 years later you have three beautiful children, you have built a whole life and there is still a whole life for the two of us.”
He continues: “Every day you learn that you get to know each other, but also yourself and I am super open about that, but the older you get, you find out: this is our life and we are so happy and that’s it.”
Nice round number
It seems that Jandino doesn’t see his marriage lasting very long. “The marriage is still going well and imagine… We have now been together for 28 years, but imagine that we think: at thirty years, that is a nice round number, we are going in a different direction, then I will definitely call you, but you don’t have to worry.”
He concludes: “Maybe we’ll do it with forty and maybe we’ll end up in a retirement home somewhere and then we’ll bicker.”
