Singer Paula Koivuniemi has lived a quiet life in recent years.
Koivuniemi ended her career at the Kiitos Paula farewell concert held in May 2024. It will be his last public appearance for now.
Latest picture
The last photo that has been seen in public of Koivuniemi is the photo published by the songwriter Ilkka “Ile” Vainio in May. The publication has since been removed from Vainio’s Facebook account. Vainio justified the removal of the photo by saying that some “cowards of the dark” thought it was inappropriate to publish the photo.
The picture showed Koivuniemi and his Tony-his son. According to Vainio, the duo arrived to meet him at the record company.
The last concert
The Kiitos Paula concert that celebrated Koivuniemi’s career was organized in Tampere in May 2024. Koivuniemi announced half a year earlier that he would leave the stage.
Koivuniemi himself did not perform at the concert, but his songs were performed by other artists, such as Lea Laven, Marion Rung and Tuure Kilpeläinen. At the end of the concert, Koivuniemi got on stage to hug the performers and greet the audience. Koivuniemi cried on stage and motioned to the audience.

The social channels went silent
Koivuniemi’s own social media channels have gone silent. Only two publications have been published on Koivuniemi’s Instagram account this year. Both promote his fan merchandise.
After the celebratory concert, Koivuniemi presented in May 2024 Oliver– his cat to his followers on Instagram.
– A few here have asked how Oliver is doing. The Lord is doing well, enjoying the sunshine and wishing everyone a nice weekend!

In August 2024, Koivuniemi published a picture of himself on his Instagram account. In the photo, Koivuniemi is posing on Hietaniemi’s beach in a red blazer.

Previous years
Koivuniemi still participated in public events in 2022. He participated, among other things, in the 2022 Linna celebrations and earlier in the same year in Vesa-Matti Loir’s funeral.
Koivuniemi gave the last cover interview to Iltalehte in 2020. The interview talked about Koivuniemi’s love life, among other things. Koivuniemi said that she no longer longs for love relationships.
– The time for love relationships is over. Those things are already so far away, it is no longer relevant to think about such things. I am happy with the life I have. It has the pieces I miss, Koivuniemi told Iltalehte.
