November 12, 2025 (changed at 11.49pm) – MILAN

For the third year in a row Jannik Sinner has reached the semifinal of the ATP Finals. He did it by beating a good Alexander Zverev, rising to the level in the most important moments, and guaranteeing himself the lead in the group. He will therefore face the second place in the Connors group, that of Alcaraz and Musetti. And to the other Italian present in Turin, to the delight of the crowd, he dedicated a thought in his on-court statements: “Zverev played an excellent baseline game, luckily one break per set was enough for me. But there weren’t as many rallies as in Lorenzo’s match last night, or the same level (laughs)”.

After the match, Sinner also mentioned Darren Cahill, the super coach who together with Simone Vagnozzi guided him into the tennis elite. In recent days the Australian had spoken of his presence also for 2026 in Jannik’s corner, saying that he would finally decide on the blue. However, he hasn’t revealed his cards yet: “Cahill? We’ll talk at the end of the tournament.”

“The match was very difficult”, reflects Jannik, “I served well in the important points, he had a lot of break points. Zverev and I know each other very well. Behind these results there is a lot of work, and in tennis trust is important: recently I have played a lot, this makes you feel better in the important points. We are trying to go as far as possible but also to play the best and work tactically. Thank you all very much, the crowd was fantastic”. Applause greets the blue, who will return to the field on Friday against Ben Shelton, already knowing his opponent in the semifinals.
