The police have not yet arrested anyone, but have checked the identities of a number of possible suspects.
The children walked with their lanterns around 8 p.m. near England Park in Haarlem, on the edge of the European Quarter. According to the police, there were ‘several’ minors, but did not mention their ages. “At least more than two children.”
A child to the hospital
The control room then received a report that a group of about ten people wearing masks had robbed the victims of their candy. According to a Burgernet report, these involved ‘skeleton masks’ and boys around the age of sixteen.
“There were also children pushed to the ground,” said the police spokesperson. “They had no injuries, but they did have pain. One was therefore taken to hospital for a check-up.”
