Without a doubt, the courtship between Marianela Mirra and José Alperovich, Former governor of Tucumán convicted of sexual abuse, was one of the most controversial media events of the year. The former winner of Big Brother and the former Peronist leader have been involved for a few months in a relationship that combined public confessions, intimate photos, a brief breakup and, according to the Tucumán and Buenos Aires media, wedding plans for the end of November 2025.
Although rumors of romance date back more than a decade, when it was discovered that the model was paid as contracted staff of the Tucumán Parliament, the romantic link became public on April 1, 2025, when Mirra published messages on her Instagram account in which she confirmed a “courtship” with Alperovich and defended her right to visit him. “I’m going to visit my partner because I love him. And I believe in him yesterday, today and always, to the death,” he wrote in a story that was quickly spread by national media. That confirmation unleashed criticism and headlines about the judicial past of the former Tucumán official.
Shortly after, Mirra shared images and stories on social networks that showed an intimate bond, including a photo in which she appears next to Alperovich in a bed, which fueled the controversy and forced the former reality show figure to respond to journalists and followers. The posts and visits to the prison unit or the place where Alperovich was housed under house arrest were recorded by different entertainment and police portals.
The judicial background is key to understanding why the relationship generated such a stir. Alperovich was tried and convicted of aggravated sexual abuse in June 2024. A court found him responsible for multiple acts against his niece who worked as his secretary and he was sentenced to 16 years in prison and disqualified from holding public office. This conviction explains the enormous public repercussion of any emotional link with the former governor.

At the beginning of November, different media reported that the couple had set a date for their wedding. November 27 would be the day chosen for the engagement and the ceremony would be “intimate”, at the home in Puerto Madero where Alperovich would be serving house arrest, with a very small list of guests. Public reactions were mixed: sectors of public opinion and organizations in defense of victims of sexual violence harshly questioned the idea of a wedding while Alperovich is convicted of abuse; Others commented that it was a personal decision for the couple.
Just two months ago, the former reality contestant had said that she began artificial insemination treatment with the former provincial president, making clear her decision to move forward with the relationship. During a chat with his friend Gaston Trezeguet, To whom she had previously confirmed her pregnancy, Mirra communicated: “Hello king. If I get married… it is a project that is criticized but it exists and is part of my life.” To marry again, the politician had to recently divorce the former Justicialist senator Beatriz Rojkés. The “yes” moment promises to be the climax of the entire controversy.
