The Japanese clothing chain Uniqlo is continuing its expansion course in Germany. On Tuesday, the company, which is part of the Fast Retailing textile group, announced that it would be opening a branch in the Westfield Centro Oberhausen shopping center in the spring of next year.
In the past few weeks, the retailer has already moved into new stores in Cologne, Frankfurt and Munich. He currently has twelve locations in Germany. The next step should now take place in Oberhausen. In the future, Uniqlo will use premises there with a total area of 850 square meters.
“We are impressed by the positive response to our new openings in the fall and are very pleased to be able to build on this momentum and continue our expansion in Oberhausen in the spring,” said Kohsuke Kobayashi, Chief Operating Officer for Uniqlo Germany and Poland, in a statement. “The Westfield Centro is an important shopping center for an entire region, and our goal is to make Uniqlo LifeWear accessible to even more people in North Rhine-Westphalia.”
