Humberto Tan still does not see his talk show RTL Tonight as a failed program, but makes no secret of the fact that he is disappointed with the viewing figures. “We are going to take stock.”
The late evening of RTL 4 is neither meat nor fish: for serious conversations and politics you can go to Pauw & De Wit, and for police incorrect pub talk you can go to Today Inside. RTL Tonight tries to fit in there, but in the end there is now a program that has no face. The desk in particular creates an uncomfortable setting.
‘Not going well’
However, Humberto Tan, who currently does the Sunday edition of RTL Tonight, does not yet see the show as a failure. However, he is disappointed with the viewing figures.
Was changing the previous talk show such a good idea? The Telegraph presents it to him. He answers: “That remains to be seen. So far things are not going well, and we are disappointed about that. We will take stock in two to three months.”
Back to table
Will the RTL Tonight studio be overhauled after the New Year? “I don’t know anything about rumors that we would now go back to a table instead of a desk, for example. But no, I don’t think it’s a failed project yet.”
In any case, Humberto is still going for it with one hundred percent. “You know, I recently heard someone say: ‘That Humberto has no ambition anymore’. I thought that was so strange. Why? I am fresh and fruitier than ever.”
